Serendib's chance to enter the first ever KCL finals has been ended by Tokyo Giants accurate bowling.Serendib won the toss for this valuable game but started with a disaster of getting out captain in the very first over.Soon after Dhanuka Samaranayake's run out cause serendib further trouble.First 3 batsman were got out for the very low score and that cause run rate under 3 runs per over.In the 10th over Serendib scorecard was shown in 25 runs for 3 wickets.Only Dumminda wickramarathna showed some resistence in the middle to the Giants very tight bowling.Eventually he also got out scoring 23 runs.In the end Serendib scored 108 runs with the help of 10th wicket partnership of Jayathura samarakoon and Buddhika Manoj.Buddhika Manoj's cameo of inning ended in the exactly the last ball of the innings.

Tokyo Giants started with the target of 108 runs with carefull manner.But with the help of some poor bowling ,They gradually started to attack.In the middle they had some hiccups but 108 runs were realy not enough to defend against such a high calibre side like Tokyo Giants.Now Tokyo Giants will be in the KCL finals for the 7 out of 8 years which they won the trophy on those 7 time.

Serendib's chance of winning first ever cup final had been vanished due to Lions good tight bowling.Although Serendib lost the toss , Buddhika Manoj and Shiron Dharshana bowled fantastic opening spell to stop Lions usual attacking style of batting.In the first 5 overs, Lions score was just 14 runs.But after the 5 overs,with the help of some loose bowling they gradually accelarated the run rate.In the end Serendib came back to the game with some good fielding effort to restrict Lions innings to a reachable score of 101 runs.This is good bowling effort considering the Lions powerfull batting lineup.

Serendib openers Shiron Dharshana and Lasith Rathanamalala started their run chase but couldnt give a good start both of them got out too early.But Dhanuka who was promoted to batting looks realy good hitting some nice shots.But his run out gave Lions to get back to the game.It was the turning point of the match after that Serendib batsman failed to score required run rate of 5 runs.At the end of the 10 overs Serendib score was 30 runs way behind of the required run rate.That shows the accuracy of Lions bowling.In the end Serendib batsman tried to accelarate the run rate but wickets were fallen regular intervals.Finally Lions won the JGC 20/20 cup by 26 runs.

Yesterday Serendib registered another easy win against Paddy Foleys.It was a morning game and as usual some of serendib players were late.But this time paddys captain wanted to reduce our allocated overs as a panalty.So Serendib started the game with loosing 2 overs.To add more trouble serendib lost the toss for the 5th consecutive time for this season and had to field once more.Serendib opening bowler Chamila Silva started a unsual bad over with 10 runs including 7 wides.But serendib managed to get back to the bowling rythem after taking 2 outstanding run outs by Dhanuka samaranayake and Shiron Dharshana.With the introduction of Shiron Dharshana to bowl paddys down fall was started.Shiron Dharshana bowled really good line and length and that help to get 3 wickets.One time he was on a hat trick but unfortunately he couldnt get his 2nd hat trick on serendib history.In the end Paddys were restricted to mere 63 runs in the exactly 18th over.

Serendib stared thier small chase of with a new batting order.But wickets were fallen regular intervals starting from Buddhika Manoj in the first over.Sasanka Salgadu who was playing his first game as a batsman played some glorious shots including a massive six over long leg boundery.Chamila silva gave a good support with scoring 18 runs in quick time.In the end Serendib chased thir target of 64 runs with five wickets in hand.Man of the match for this game should be given to Sasanka Salgadu for his sencible batting and some tight bowling.

Serendib recoreded thier 2nd back to back victory in the JGC 20/20 competition last Sunday.This time oppponent was Tokyo Dragonz sport club.Serendib went to this game with only having 10 players on thier hand.Serendib captain Asankha Pallegedara lost the toss for the 4th consecutive time in this season and had to bowl under the good batting track.But Serendib opening bowlers Chamila Silva and Shiron Dharshana bowled a remarkable spell of fast bowling.After the six overs scorecard was showed like 12 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.Serendib new find Chamila Silva in perticular never give any room to Dragons batsmans to play attacking shots.After the finishing of serendib opening spells Dragons players gradually start to collect runs.In the end thier score was 88 all out in the 20th over.Chamila Silva was the pick of the bowlers with the match figures of 3for8.Also Sasanka Salgadu grabbed 3 important wickets for 15 runs with his fast leg cutters.

Serendib started their target with heavy blow since skipper Asankha were gone for duck.Then our experienced Duminda Wickramarathna hit some attacking fours but he also went out for 12 runs.But opener Lasith Rathnamalala anchored the innings with good support were given by Jayathura,Amesh and Shiron Dharshana.Finally Lasith got out but in that time serendib victory was inevitable.Shiron Dharshana collected the winnings runs by glorious lofted off drive.Now Serendib virtually in the JGC semi finals with still one game to play.

Today serendibs managed to win against new comers Indian Tigers by 4 wickets. Serendib lost the toss but bowled exceptionaly well to restrict Indian Tigers to mere 52 runs.This is the lowest opponent total in the serendibs history.Serendib opening bowlers ,Manoj Buddhika and new comer Chamila Silva bowled with great pace and bounce.Tigers didnt know how to play such a accurate bowling.After the tight opening spell ,Sasanka Salgadu distroyed tigers middle order with 3 quick wickets by his leg cutters.

Serendib start thier lowest target in the history with a new opening combination of Duminda Wickramarathna and Lasith Rathnamalala.But Lasith couldnt hang around too much time by getting out with a very loose shot.After the Lasith's wickets serendib lost thier track by loosing wickets in very quick time.Before serendib captain Asankha Pallegedara and Buddhika Manoj come to crease , Serendib scorecard was shown as 30 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.But these two put unbroken 26 runs for the 7th wicket and registerd 2nd win for the JGC competition.Manoj Buddhika should be the todays man of the match for his 3 catches plus 1 wicket and good match winning partnership with captain.

Today Serendib played against Lions under the rainny condition at Koiwa.Serendib thought this game might postpone due to last night rain but had to play because Lions didnt want to re-schedule this game.

Serendib captain won the toss for the first time on this season and decided to bat under cloudy condition.But serendib wickets had been fallen in regular intervals so couldn't accelarate the run rate.Apart from some good hitting by Ganganath no other batsman could score runs freely. In the end Serendib finish their innings with the score of 98 runs for the lost of 8 wickets.Both Dhanuka samaranayake and Ganganath scored 24 runs.

Serendib started well to defend the low score of 98 runs.Both opening bowlers Buddhika Manoj and Shanaka bowled with tight line and lenght and picked up 2 early wickets.After that there was a little partnership before Asankha Pallegedara took his first of three wickets with the help of good catch by Buddhika Samarakoon.Then Buddhika Manoj took a splendid catch to build the pressure on lions batsman.

In the end Lions managed to chase their target of 99 runs for the lost of 7 wickets.It was a close game but if Serendib scored some 20 more runs the result might be different.

Serendib continue with their winning habit by defeating Syzouka Kytes CC on a friendly game at Syzouka ground.

It was scheduled to have a KCL match against Tokyo Tigers but they forfieted the game for Serendib. So Serendib arranged a friendly game with kytes. Serendib reached Syzouka ground with about 3 hour drive from Tokyo . Both teams agreed to play full 40 over game although game started on 11:45 am which is 45 minutes late on regular starting time.Serendib captain Asankha Pallegedara lost the toss for the second time of this season . But opening opening bowlers Buddhika Manoj and Shiron Dharshana started with good tide spell. Only openers of Kytes team managed to play positve cricket. After thier departure to serendib tide bowling they were bowled out for 123 runs in 32nd over.

Serendib started with their run chase with a bad note since new opener for this game Dhanasiri wijedasa unfortunetely got run out on 2nd over. But Jayathura samarakoon and Lasith Rathnamalala consolidated the innings with a good partnership of 60 odd runs. Although Jayathura and Lasith god out in the middle of the innings Shiron Dharshana and Buddhika Samarakoon finished the game with 6 wickets in hand.

This was good team effort because everyone contribute with bat or ball hope this winning rally continue with future games .

Serendibs started their 2008 season with comfortable win against Indian Engineers cricket club on JGC 20/20 competition.

IECC won the toss and elected to bat but serendib bowling was too much for them since they got bowled out for just 94 runs. Shiron Dharshana bowled briliantly with a first hatric for serendib history.

Serendib started thier their chase with good opening stand between captain Asankha and Shiron. They added 61 runs for the first wicket that gave the foundation for victory. In the end serendib managed to chase the target of 95 runs for just 4 wickets.This is realy a good start for serendib after several washed out games for this season.

Unfortunately another game has been washed out. This time its a KCL game against Alkaram at Ageo. Although there is a good weather condition on both yesterday and today , heavy showers poured in last week cause another washout game.

Serendib's new season for 2008 is started with called off game. We have scheduled a friendly game against Paddy Foleys but unfortunately weather against us.

So our next game will be KCL league game against Alkaram at Ageo on 8th of June.
